A long name, but perfectly descriptive of its content. Harry W. Smith both wrote and illustrated this detailed book. A talented craftsman/artist in several areas, Mr. Smith is best known these days for his oil paintings, fabric arts, and jewelry creations. Great Resource for The House of Miniatures Kits

More Than Just Kit Info

When I first had the idea to create the House of Miniatures Info web site I was mostly interested in cataloging information that I was collecting and to keep track of which kits I had bought or built. The project grew quickly, which is a repeating theme with me. Detail begets detail and it turned into an obsession to catalog everything that H.o.M. ever sold. I wanted pictures of the box covers, year started, and the time period that the piece represented. That expanded into a need to know the history of the company and its present condition, as well. I even made scans of their advertisements and catalogs. It was a bit of a sickness, I guess, but I got it out of my system. I hope there is someone else in the world who needs or wants some of the information I found and that people make use of the resource.
